Government Plans Scheme For Trade-In Of Old Cars
August 2009 | Industry BriefNews: Russian government is planning to introduce a scheme for trade-in of old cars in the country on the lines of cash-for-clunkers programme implemented in the US to boost its struggling car industry. Moscow's industry and trade ministry is planning to pay an award of RUB50,000 (US$1,540) for the trade-in of vehicles more than 10 years old. Old car owners can use the money to buy cheap Russian-made new cars.
