International Brands Tap Premium Car Demand

Luxury brands are looking to tap into the demand for premium cars in India despite the economic downturn. The Indian unit of Volvo Cars is forecasting sales of premium cars to rise from 7,000 units last year to 10,000 in 2009, according to Reuters. The Ford Motor-owned brand expects its total sales in India, where it made its debut just last year, to grow by more than 10% this year.
