Autos Brace For Weak Year Ahead As Scrappage Incentive Ends

The German government will not be extending the ongoing vehicle scrappage scheme beyond December this year. The highly successful project has so far helped the industry buck recessionary trends in the economy with 7M09 passenger car sales rising nearly 27%, to 2.4mn units, compared with the same period last year.
