Ford, CAW To Begin Talks In September

News: According to Reuters, the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union has stated that labour talks with US automaker Ford Motor will begin on September 8. The talks are aimed at achieving cost cuts for the automaker and job and product commitments for the union. The automaker is of the view that it requires the same cost structure as that of its competitors, General Motors and Chrysler, to survive in Canada. CAW president, Ken Lewenza considers keeping Ford's St. Thomas plant open a priority for the union.
