GM Secures Chinese Buyer For Hummer

The growing influence of the Chinese automotive industry has been emphasised by the sale of General Motors (GM)'s Hummer brand to a heavy industry group from the country. GM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sichuan-based Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery with a finalised deal expected in Q309. Under the terms of the MoU, Tengzhong will maintain the existing Hummer management, continue production of Hummer vehicles under contract, and fund new products aimed at improving fuel
