Turkey Has Potential To Overcome Autos Crisis

A joint venture (JV) between Renault Trucks and Turkey's Karsan is one of several projects to be undertaken by the industry in 2009. Speaking to the press as the companies opened their new EUR25mn production line at Karsan's plant in Bursa, Industry and Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan stated that 49 firms would spend a total of TRL3bn (US$1.77bn) on research and development, including the creation of 7,800 jobs.
