Indonesia Chosen As Honda Minivan Base
March 2009 | Project NewsJapan's Honda Motor will build a new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Freed, for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region at its plant in Indonesia. Production of the new model will commence in June with exports to other South East Asian countries scheduled before the year-end. The model will also comprise parts and components from Honda facilities in other neighbouring countries, particularly Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, as part of Honda's strategy to use the most competitive routes to production.
