Nissan Axes 1,400 Jobs In Spain

Japanese carmaker Nissan has finalised an agreement with union officials to lay off 1,400 employees at its plant in Barcelona, Spain. The redundancies are part of its broader strategy to cut labour costs by nearly 20% in 'high-cost countries', as revealed in early February.
