Spain Approves Auto Industry Aid

The Spanish government has approved a EUR4.1bn (US$5.3bn) aid plan to support the domestic auto industry and protect against massive job losses in Spain. As a part of the plan, which was approved on February 13 2009, the government has earmarked some EUR1.2bn for provision of state credit to boost car sales during 2009 and 2010.
