Scania Scores In Run-Up To World Cup

Sweden's Scania has won a contract to supply buses for Johannesburg's new public transport system, which is due to be operational for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Under the terms of the contract, Scania will supply 143 buses, comprising 41 articulated models and 102 conventional buses, to be supplied during this year. In the longer term, around 1,000 buses will enter service in the city over the next four years, which puts Scania in a good position to supply the system.
