Nissan Halts Production For Weeks In Mexico

Japanese automotive manufacturer Nissan Motor has announced plans to suspend production in Mexico for several weeks in Q109, stating that the US recession has reduced demand for vehicles both at home and abroad. The manufacturer is likely to reduce production further if 'these stoppages are not enough or if there is necessity for more', Nissan Mexicana unit spokesman Israel Ortega revealed.
