Proton Explores Operations in Egypt

News: According to just-auto.com, Malaysian automobile manufacturer Proton is looking for completely-knock-down (CKD) assembly operations in Egypt. The company's Managing Director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir has stated that total car sales in Egypt could reach 500,000 units annually from the existing 200,000 units. He added Egypt could become a gateway to the northern African region and has the potential to link with other African countries.
