Czech Republic May Axe 13,500 Jobs

According to latest estimates from the Czech Car Industry Association (AIA), layoffs in the auto industry will increase from 3,000 workers in October 2008 to an estimated 13,552 workers in the first few months of 2009. The production cuts are likely to come primarily from auto parts suppliers following recessionary trends in most European markets.
