GM Denies Opel Sale Idea
November 2008 | Company News AlertNews: A spokesperson for US carmaker General Motors (GM), Tom Wilkinson, has stated that the company's German division, Opel, is not for sale even in the current tight financial conditions. The regional parliament in the German state of Hesse had said that it would offer a loan of up to EUR500mn in case GM files for bankruptcy. Wilkinson added that the recently acquired Swedish automaker Saab was also not for sale.
