Nissan Confirms South African Job Cuts

Japan's Nissan has announced that it will be cutting its South African workforce by around 20%, as a result of the market's poor performance this year. Data from the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (NAAMSA) showed a 28.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in new vehicle sales in November. Nissan spokesperson Pat Senne told local press that the job cuts would 'align the company with the market'.
