Toyota Rethinks Thailand Investment
December 2008 | Company News AlertToyota has been forced to reconsider its investment plans in Thailand, on the back of poor sales in the country. The company's most recent project to be approved by the Thai Board of Investment (BoI) was a THB6.3bn plant to produce small fuel-efficient cars. Scheduled to begin production in 2012 with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units, the plant fell into the government's 'Eco car' programme and as such, qualified for incentives. However, this project is now being reviewed by the Japanese manufacturer.
