Gates Open In Turkish Auto Parts Segment

US automotive component manufacturer Gates Corp has announced plans to build new facilities in Turkey to serve demand from the European market. The new plants in the Gebze and Tuzla districts of Istanbul will provide gas liquids engineering and distribution, while the plant in the Izmir Free Trade Zone will produce lubrication oil, pumps and belts, according to a news conference held by Gates officials and representatives of the government's Investment Support and Promotion Agency. Construction on the new facilities is expected to begin during Q408, with operations due to begin in 2010.
