Big Cars, Small Markets Boost GM Sales

US carmaker General Motors (GM) has reason to be positive, as its Middle East division announced record sales for the first nine months of 2008. Sales of 111,944 units were a 13% improvement on the same period in 2007, and helped the overall GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East division (GM LAAM) to a record 341,900 units for Q3 alone. Over the three quarters, GM LAAM has sales of 1.012mn units, also up 13% year-on year
