Nano Finds New Home
October 2008 | Company News AlertTata Motors has chosen Gujarat as the new home for its Nano compact model, after protests led by the Trinamool Congress party against land compensation packages for farmers prompted the carmaker to leave its previous base in Singur. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Tata Motors and the state, taking the form of a 'state support agreement.' Tata Group Chairman, Ratan Tata, referred to the incentives provided by the state as 'slightly better' than those secured at the previous site.
