Chinese Carmakers Export To Israel
September 2008 | Project NewsTwo deals signed within recent weeks will see an increase in the number of Chinese vehicles arriving in Israel, while also further developing the country's electric vehicle initiatives. Chinese rechargeable battery manufacturer BYD, which has recently sold a 10% stake to the MidAmerican Energy Holdings division of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, has reached an agreement to sell its cars in the country. Clal Industries and Investments, a division of Israel's IDB Development, will import BYD's electric vehicles, which range from budget to premium models, from 2010.
