VW Faces South African Strife
September 2008 | Company News AlertVolkswagen South Africa (VWSA) is fighting battles on many fronts since it claimed the lead of the country's passenger car market in June 2008. Just two years after launching the brand, VWSA has announced plans to discontinue local sales of SEAT models, due to what sales and marketing director Mike Glendinning called 'current and expected circumstances' that have made the 'ongoing importation of this niche brand non-viable'. VWSA has committed to providing after-sales servicing to existing SEAT customers, while all warranties and servicing plans will also be honoured.
