BMW And Fiat Cooperate To Minimise Costs

Italian auto manufacturer Fiat and Germany's BMW have agreed to co-operate on the joint use of systems and auto parts in BMW's Mini and Fiat's Alfa Romeo vehicles. The memorandum of understanding which was signed by the heads of the two companies - BMW's Friedrich Eichiner and Fiat's Alfredo Altavilla - is primarily aimed at minimising costs by building common platforms and sharing engines for the two vehicles.
