New Auto Law Hits Imports and Sales in Venezuela
June 2008 | Industry NewsCar sales in Venezuela dipped by almost 41.4% year-on-year (y-o-y) in May as a result of the government's quota restrictions of a maximum of 219,000 imported vehicles, including motorbikes in 2008. The Venezuelan auto market, which is predominantly import oriented, saw only 62,188 imported vehicles in the first four months of the year and an overall drop of 59.3% y-o-y by the end of May 2008.
