Shake Up Due For Iranian Carmakers
June 2008 | Industry NewsIran's Minister for Industry and Mines has confirmed that although the country's two national carmakers will not be merged, they will need to undergo restructuring in order to qualify for privatisation. Ali Akbar Mehrabian went on to say that the companies will need to 'make certain reforms in their structures' and 'modernise their business activities'. He added that SAIPA, which is 48%-owned by the Iranian government has already made progress in restructuring and now Iran Khodro needs to follow
