Toyota Expands Thai Diesel Engine Production

Japan's Toyota is raising output of diesel engines in Thailand, to meet increased demand for its vehicles produced under the innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) project. A second plant will be added to Siam Toyota Manufacturing Company's existing site by 2010, with an annul production capacity of 150,000 units. This will take Toyota's total annual production capacity for diesel engines to 350,000 units, which when combined with petrol engines, gives Siam Toyota a total engine output of 650,000 units.
