Tata Finalises Premium Brands Deal
June 2008 | Company Finance AlertIndia's Tata Motors has secured the acquisition of the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) division from Ford after an initial agreement on the US$2.3bn deal was signed in March 2008. Under the terms of the deal, Tata gains access to JLR's intellectual property rights, production facilities, two UK-based design centres and a global sales network. Meanwhile, JLR will be encouraged to continue with its existing business plan, with both brands retaining their identity, according to Tata Motors chairman Ratan
