Soaring oil prices and tough emission regulations have prompted carmakers to investigate solar energy as an effective additional energy source for car users. Although the concept of using solar power to run an ordinary vehicle is still a distant possibility, the idea of using the energy to run additional components in the vehicles is increasingly becoming popular, says Thomic Ruschmeyer from the German Association for Solar Mobility
