Government Will Not Sell Stake In Kamaz

The Russian government has stated that it does not intend to sell its 38% stake in truck maker Kamaz, following reports that investment company Troika Dialog was planning to increase its stake to 54.4%. Instead, the government's stake will be transferred to the corporation's share capital with a view to the sale of a 20-25% stake to a Western truck-maker, with Volvo, Iveco, MAN and Scania cited as potential investors in the Russian media. An alternative scenario is a merger between Kamaz and its Belarusian competitor, Minsk Automobile Plant
