Isuzu Considers Saudi Production

Japanese truck manufacturer Isuzu is reportedly considering local production of its trucks in Saudi Arabia based on its strong sales in the Kingdom. The company currently exports its D-Max pick-up trucks from Thailand and larger trucks from Japan, but according to local press reports, Isuzu spokesman Tadashi Ioka says Isuzu is 'considering various ways to expand'. Final details have yet to be finalised and Isuzu has denied reports in the Nikkei daily that it will start production as early as next year through a joint venture. However, Isuzu is in talks with local dealers and the Saudi Arabian government.
