Investment Begins At Home For Honda

Japanese carmaker Honda will invest US$485mn in a new small car plant, according to reports from Japanese daily Nikkei. Based in Yokkaichi, the plant will use new automated production lines and distribution processes aimed at reducing costs by around 30%, compared with its current facilities. The lower costs will also be implemented in developing a small budget car for emerging markets, tapping a growing demand sparked by models such as Renault's Logan.
