Ford Gets EC Approval For Craiova Acquisition

Ford of Europe has welcomed the European Commission's decision to approve its acquisition of the former Daewoo factory in Romania. The Romanian government, which holds a 72.4% stake in Automobile Craiova, must however recover EUR27mn from Ford in line with the EC's ruling that conditions of the original sale operation - for example minimum production figures - constituted state aid.
