Czech Carmaker Skoda Enjoys Record Results In 2007

Czech carmaker Skoda continues to impress. After making significant gains in 2006, Skoda has unveiled record results for 2007, despite the tough operating climate prevalent in Western Europe. According to company sources, Skoda sold a record 118,692 units in Germany last year, a particularly positive performance in light of the overall fall in new car registrations experienced by this market (sales were down by around 9%). In fact, Skoda enjoyed its best regional sales performance last year in Western Europe, delivering 327,222 cars and increasing its market share to 2.2%.
