Mitsubishi Closes Under Import Pressure
February 2008 | Company News AlertJapan's Mitsubishi Motors has revealed that it will close its Australian plant as sales of domestically-produced vehicles plunge. Despite receiving over AUD100mn in handouts from the government over the last 10 years to keep the plant going, the increasing advantage for imported vehicles as the Australian dollar grows in strength has proven too much.
