Hankook Targets Growth In Eastern Europe

The first tyres made by Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. at its new plant in Hungary have started to roll off the production line. Looking to exploit Hungary's key geographical location as a springboard for its products into the rest of Eastern Europe, Hankook has invested EUR500mn in the facility in Dunaújváros, which is located in the centre of the country. As the automotive industry grows in terms of importance to Hungary's overall economy, Hankook expects to employ around 1,500 people at Dunaújváros once the plant reaches full capacity.
