Ford Plant To Fuel Asia
June 2007 | Project NewsUS carmaker Ford is preparing to open its new plant for flex-fuel engines in the Philippines on June 14. Over the next five years, the PHP1.1bn facility will produce around 100,000 engines, capable of running on a 90:10 gasoline to ethanol combination. The engines will initially be fitted into the Ford Focus, and later in the Escape SUV and Mazda models, including the Mazda3 and Tribute SUV. Ford already produces these vehicles in the Philippines for export to other South East Asian nations, which means the project will enable Ford to instantly target a number of markets such as Thailand,
