Strong Sales Growth Dispels Fears Of A Downturn
May 2007 | BMI ViewFears of a sharp downturn in new car sales following Bulgaria's accession to the EU in January 2007 dissipated after Q1 results showed sales up by 28.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 11,756 units, including 11,186 passenger cars. In the commercial vehicle segment, Bulgarian dealers sold 570 new trucks and buses in Q1 2007, up 127% y-o-y. This was despite a 70% rise in used vehicle imports to 60,000 units in Q1.
