BMI's updated Business Environment Ranking for the automotive industry sees Hong Kong retaining joint 13th place going into the final quarter of the year, although the composite score of 31 is two points higher than in our previous report. This represents a slight improvement in both Hong Kong's long-term economic and political risk ratings. The lack of a CBU production industry still provides little opportunity for investors, while the growth of the mainland market threatens any chances of creating one.
