Argentine Industry Makes Auspicious Start To The Year

Argentina's automotive industry has got off to a strong start in 2007 and the sector looks to be on track to meeting the lofty expectations of industry representatives. Specifically, robust figures have been reported for exports and production, with exports climbing by almost 60% last month compared to February 2006 to reach a 15-year high. In 2006, the pace of growth in the industry prompted BMI to raise its 2006 forecast for output to 400,000 units. Our forecast for 2007 currently stands at 440,000 units.
