Strong Growth Forecast Up To 2010
January 2007 | BMI ViewThe growth of the Serbian car market over the forecast period will be heavily influenced by the strengthening value of the dinar, strong economic growth and robust consumer demand, according to BMI's recently released Serbia Automotives Report. A 10% rise in the value of the dinar against the euro has helped reduce car prices at a time when household borrowing is experiencing rapid growth, thereby fuelling vehicle purchases. While this has helped spur overall demand in the automotive market, it is bad news for Serbian automotive manufacturers facing increased competition from imports. BMI forecasts year-end car sales growth of 8.0%
