Honda Earmarks Investment For Mexico

Honda is stepping up its game in Mexico after enjoying an increase in sales in the country. The Japanese carmaker's Mexican affiliate has unveiled investment of US$80mn over the next two years in a bid to extend its network and boost production. According to company sources, output at its Mexican facilities will rise from 30,000 units a year to 50,000 units. Honda is also expected to make more parts, primarily for export to the US. The project will trigger new jobs at Honda, boosting the 1,400-strong workforce to 2,000. In addition, Honda will commence production of the popular CR-V SUV
