Full Steam Ahead For Brazil's Automotive Sector

The performance of Brazil's automotive sector is in line with BMI's forecasts for the industry, as reflected in our newly published Brazil Automotives Report for Q406. Industry representatives have been greatly cheered by a surge in production and sales, with the automotive industry association Anfavea raising its full-year sales forecast from 1.84mn units to 1.9mn units. After reaching record levels in October, Anfavea expects total production to reach 2.54mn units. BMI, meanwhile, maintains its sales forecast of 1.86mn units for 2006, rising to 2.33mn in 2010.
