VW Steps Up Production In Slovakia
December 2006 | Company News AlertAfter boosting output by some 20,000 units this year, Volkswagen's Slovakian plant is running at full capacity. The German manufacturer expects to turn out 240,000 vehicles this year, boosting exports from Slovakia, and ensuring that the carmaker accounts for a 16% share of the country's total export business. VW is now Slovakia's biggest manufacturer by sales and exports. Last year, the company made some 218,349 vehicles in the country. While VW has ruled out significantly increasing output in the future, the carmaker may add new models to its product portfolio.
