Steadfast Progress For Chilean Automotive Market

Chile's automotive industry has remained relatively unchanged in the second half of 2006. As such, BMI has maintained its forecasts for the key areas of sales and production in the newly released Chile Automotives Report for Q406. Following a trend identified in earlier reports, imports continue to weigh heavily in the sector's outlook, rising by 34.7% to 18,958 units in October. Similarly, the automotive trade association Cavem notes that used car sales have risen by 8.4%, with around 300,000 units sold in the year to July.
