The Venezuelan and Iranian governments have joined forces to open a car plant in Venezuela. For Venezuela, the plan gives the country's president Hugo Chavez the opportunity to lower Venezuela's dependence on US imports, boost domestic output and provide cheap vehicles for the less affluent. For Iran, the deal represents a strategic business move whereby the country will obtain access to markets in the Latin America
