PSA To Scale Back Production At Rennes
November 2006 | Company News AlertFrench carmaker PSA Peugeot-Citroen is expected to scale back production at its plant in Rennes because of dwindling sales of the Citroen C5, C6 and Peugeot 407 vehicles. The move is in line with a cost-cutting plan unveiled earlier this year, which also envisages the loss of some 2,000 temporary jobs by the end of 2006. Despite a reprieve on the European market in October, when the PSA group enjoyed a 7.1% rise in sales thanks to its domestic market, the Rennes facilities will close for an extra two weeks at the end of the year.
