VW Finds Indian Home
November 2006 | FDI AlertThe uncertainty surrounding Volkswagen's choice of location for its Indian plant is at an end, with the German firm settling on Chakan near Pune, in the state of Maharashtra. VW will plough US$300mn into the new plant, which will begin production of a small car from H209. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between VW and the state government of Maharashtra on November 29 2006.
