Strong Production Figures Buoy Polish Market

Business Monitor International's (BMI's) Poland Automotives Report examines the rapid growth in Polish automotive production, which comes at a time of falling domestic car sales. Around 96% of car production was exported in the first half of 2006, although local producer Intrall - representing just 0.02% of output in the segment - relies entirely on the domestic market. Poland's export-oriented automotive sector has secured the country's position as a production hub for autos majors as well as its own indigenous manufacturers such as FSO, which was recently taken over by Ukraine's AvtoVAZ.
