South Africa And EU Reach Export Agreement
November 2006 | Industry NewsSouth Africa and the European Union will aim to implement a new export tariff agreement on automotive goods from December 1 2006. Under the terms of the agreement, the EU will reduce its import tariff on South African automotive goods to zero by 2008, while South Africa will reduce its import tariff on EU goods from 25% to 18%. South African Foreign Minister Nikosazana Diamini-Zuma attributed the difference in tariff cuts to the EU's more economically developed status.
