EU Accession No Barrier To Growth

The Romanian automotive sector is dominated by local Renault subsidiary Dacia, which is enjoying resurgent popularity on export markets with its budget Logan model, launched in late 2004. The Logan has not only been a success in Central and Eastern Europe, but also in Western European states, according to BMI's newly published Romania Automotives Report. In the first three quarters of 2006, Romanian vehicle sales rose 14.0% y-o-y to 187,938 units, including an 18.2% y-o-y rise in passenger car sales to 157,367 units.
