European Upturn In the Offing?

With two months remaining before the end of the year, Spain and France have reported higher car sales for October. While the upturn is certainly good news for manufacturers such as Renault and Peugeot, who have posted gains on their domestic market, the positive figures belie a climate that remains somewhat flat. Given that the operating environment of high costs for raw materials and intense competition is set to continue during 2006 and beyond, BMI does not foresee a significant turn around before year-end.
